Many of our members attended our annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, September 26. We had scrumptious sides and desserts to accompany the barbecued hamburgers, hot dogs, and Murdena’s famous salmon. Thanks to Murdena, Elsie, Brad, and Mark for their hard work.
In addition, 87 members re-registered their plots and signed up for next year’s work-in-kind hours – all in less than 90 minutes. Way to go, registrars!
We had four entries to the harvest display:
- Kathie had the great idea of showcasing her dahlias in a hollowed-out pumpkin
- Sheila showed off her home-grown popcorn (West Coast Seeds ‘Pink Popcorn’)
- Lois grew unique black turtle beans and a nice looking head of cabbage.
